ABOUT JOSH


JOSH is the annual journalism & sports fest organized by the students of ‘Sports Economics and Marketing’ and ‘Web journalism’ studying at the Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College, University of Delhi.
JOSH is a comprehensive event for the avid sports enthusiasts and the media keen people who are always looking for community based events.
This time the fest is estimated to get a total footfall of over 500 people at the campus and a reach of over 30000 people across Delhi-NCR.

1- Sports Debate Competition

Topic: - Does hosting a mega sporting event create economic wealth
for a nation?
Anchoring By: Robin Nirwani
 Date & Time: - 7th February, 2013 (9.30 am onwards)

Topic elaborated: - It is a much deliberated and debated issue across the sporting arenas of the world. Various governments indulge in preparing attractive bids for the host of an event years before the said event is to take place. But are all these efforts leading up to the event of any worth or is it a waste of time and money considering the dilemmas the local people face while the city is being decorated for the sporting event.


Instructions to the candidates: - Mega sporting events would include the Olympics, CWG, Asian Games, etc.
Speakers speaking for the motion would argue that all the aforesaid events are really worth the effort whereas speakers speaking against the motion would argue that hosting these events is a waste of time and money.

Rules: -
1)      A speaker can speak either ‘for’ or ‘against’ the motion.
2)    Each speaker will be given a time of (2+1) minutes to present their argument.
3)   First warning bell will be rung at 2 minutes & a final warning bell will be rung at 3 minutes. Exceeding the time limit will result in negative marking.
4)    Both Hindi & English speakers are allowed to participate.
5)   There will be a cap of 20 participants, registered on a first-cum-first serve basis.
6)   Registration will be done on the spot on the day of the event itself.
7)    Participation certificates will be provided to all the participants.


2- Women’s Football Match:


Football is the second major sport of India, keeping that in view a football match has been organized within the ‘JOSH’ fest. The football match will take place between two much known colleges of Delhi University, Jesus and Mary College and Daulat Ram College or Janki Devi Memorial College.
The match will be held between the girls of these two colleges. It will be a 45 minutes match, with 2 halves of 20 minutes and a 5 minute break in between.
VENUE: KHALSA COLLEGE PLAY GROUND
DURATION: 40 – 60 min.

भाजपा ने किया पाकिस्तान पर हमले की पैरोकारी।

         पाकिस्तानी सेनिको द्वारा नियंत्रण रेखा पार कर भारत के दो सेनिको  की बबर्रता  से हत्या किये जाने पर बी.जे.पि के राष्ट्रीय  प्रवक्ता सह्नावाज हुसैन ने आज बी. जे. पि. के कार्यालय पर हुई कांफ्रेंस में कहा की सरकार को पाकिस्तान से सख्ती से बात करनी चाहिए। पाकिस्तानी सेनिको द्वारा इस बबर्रता कार्य की  दुहाई देते हुए उन्होंने कहा की पाकिस्तानियो  ने भारत के जवानों का अपमान किया है। उन्होंने यह भी बयान दिया की सब यही चाहते है की, भारत-पाकिस्तान के सम्बन्ध अच्छे हो, परन्तु समझोते की दुहाई देकर अपने जवानों की बलि नही चढ़ाएगा भारत। पाकिस्तान को लश्कर-ऎ-त्येबा के प्रमुख अध्यक्ष हाफिज सायेद को भारत को सोंप देना चाहिए। यदि पाकिस्तान हाफिज सायेद को भारत को नही सोंपता , तो भारत सरकार में भी ऐसा साहस होना चाहिए, जिस प्रकार अमेरिका ने ओसामा बिन लादेन को पकड़ते समय साहस दिखाया था।

Dilli ki Sardi


Delhi's temp has reached as low as 2.4 degree and be it college students, office going group or aged people all are badly affected by the cold winds. Seems winters have not only affected Delhi's lifestyle but have entered into the games of kids too. These two kids were found playing house play(ghar ghar) on street assuming their diyas to be Angeethis (brazier).

दिल्ली में सर्दी का कहर ।

 राजधानी में कड़ाके की सर्दी से लोगो को कई तरह की मुश्किलों का सामना करना पड़ रहा है। दिल्ली का न्यूनतम तापमान आज २.९ डिग्री है। वही कल दिल्ली का न्यूनतम तापमान २.७ डिग्री था। सर्दी बढने के कारण लोग जगह-जगह पर आग जला कर सर्दी से राहत पाने की कोशिस कर रहे है। सर्दी बढ़ जाने व कोहरा घना बढ़ जाने के चलते ५१ रेलगाड़ी की आवाजाही में देरी हो गयी है, और १४ रेलगाड़ी रद कर दी गयी है। जिसके कारण लोगो को बहूत मुश्किलॊ का सामना करना पड़ रहा है।
